US to Allocate $ 130 Million to Track Hypersonic Weapons

US Congress will allocate an additional 130 million dollars to create a constellation of satellites for tracking hypersonic weapons, reports Defense News.

These funds will go to the Missile Defense Agency as part of the 2021 defense budget approved by Congress. It is reported that the new constellation of satellites will close the “massive gap” in the US missile warning system.

The current US President Donald Trump formerly vetoed the defense budget adopted by both chambers of the country’s Congress. According to the politician, the budget includes critical measures necessary to ensure national security.

Earlier on December 24 it was reported that the Department of Advanced Research Projects and the Military The Air Force (Air Force) of the US Armed Forces failed the first attempt to launch a prototype of a “real” hypersonic missile, created under the Hypersonic Air-Air Weapon Concept (HAWC) program.
