Fast food chain KFC has released a game console. This is reported on Cooler Master’s partner site .
The device is named KFConsole. It has the shape of a KFC box, an Intel Nuc 9 processor, 32 gigabytes of RAM, and a Seagate BarraCuda SSD with a capacity of one terabyte. The device received a GeForce RTX graphics accelerator from ASUS. The upper compartment of the device houses a stylized brazier, which is part of the cooling system. According to KFC, it can be used to heat food.
In fact, the console is a personal computer customized for the console. According to the description on the device’s website, KFConsole supports displaying images to a monitor or TV in 4K resolution at 120 frames per second, ray tracing technology, and a VR headset.
“We’re thrilled to finally give the fans exactly what they wanted – to make KFConsole real,” said KFC PR manager Mark Cheevers. The price of the console, as well as information about whether it will appear on sale, has not yet been disclosed.
KFConsole was announced on June 12 on KFC Gaming’s Twitter account. The post went viral, in particular, the official Xbox account reacted to it. Social media users suggested that the company was joking in an attempt to draw attention to the fast food chain amid audience interest in Sony’s next-generation consoles and Microsoft .
