After almost 5 months of active development available release of the program for organizing and processing digital photography Darktable 3.4 . Darktable acts as a free alternative to Adobe Lightroom and specializes in non-destructive work with raw images. Darktable provides a large selection of modules for performing all kinds of photo processing operations, allows you to maintain a base of source photos, visually navigate through existing images and, if necessary, perform distortion correction and quality improvement operations, while maintaining the original image and the entire history of operations with it. The project code is distributed under the GPLv3 license. Binary assemblies expected in coming soon .
Changes :
- Aurélien Pierre continued translating the work darktable from the default “Base Curve” module, which tries to reproduce the result of the built-in camera conversion to JPEG, using the new “Film RGB Tonal Curve” module. As part of this, a new set of default modules has been proposed. Some modules are deprecated, but kept for backward compatibility.
- A new module “Color Calibration” has been proposed, working in conjunction with the module “White Balance”. The module offers advanced tools for converting color space (including as a replacement for the module “White Balance”) at an early stage of work with the image. It allows you to reduce the likelihood of going beyond the bounds of the color model, perform conversion to black and white representation and adjust color channels.
- The RGB Film Tone Curve module has received several types of graphical representations of the transformations performed.
- Added module “Noise reduction (astrophoto)”.
- Publication user manual synchronized with the release of new versions program.
- Redesigned live camera mode (tethering). The histogram now displays data according to the image transmitted from the camera.
- Added the ability to custom group modules. The default grouping has been changed.
- The module for working with masks has been transferred to a new internal representation of the JzCzHz color space (variant of JzAzBz, 2017).
- The mode of working with images on the map has the ability to add custom groups of images (so called “Places”). Improved group display on the map.
- Improved search for modules
- Optimized frequently used algorithms for working with wavelets and a bilateral filter. Optimizations in the modules “Liquids”, “Shadows and Lights”, “Film RGB Tone Curve”, “High Pass Filter”, “Raw Noise Reduction”.
