Available release of a lightweight window manager IceWM 1.9 . Of the features of IceWM, one can note full control through keyboard shortcuts, the ability to use virtual desktops, taskbars and application menus. The window manager is configured through a fairly simple configuration file, it is possible to use themes. Built-in applets are available for monitoring CPU, memory, traffic. Several third-party GUIs for customization, desktop implementations, and menu editors are being developed separately. The code is written in C ++ and is distributed under the GPLv2 license.
The most significant changes in the new release were the removal of deprecated _WIN_PROTOCOL properties and implementation support for the Imlib2 rendering engine, which is now used by default instead of gdk-pixbuf-xlib.
Other improvements include ensuring the centering of the window list if it goes beyond the screen border, the implementation of ICCCM icon_pixmap and icon_window, as well as support for WM_HINTS icon_window in MiniIcons, which allowed us to solve problems with displaying icons for applications such as NEdit, xmgrace, xv , timidity and fontforge.
