The first smartphone based on the HarmonyOS 2.0 operating system will be released in 2021, reports the Chinese portal Sina.
After the announcement of the beta version of the OS for smartphones, Huawei held a press conference for journalists. The authors noticed a smartphone at the event, with which the company showed the interface and some functions of HarmonyOS 2.0. Also, representatives of the corporation noted that this device will be the first on which the new operating system will be available out of the box.
Representatives of the company did not name the model of the device, but believe that this phone will be Huawei P50. The launch of the smartphone, which will be pre-installed with Huawei’s own operating system, is scheduled for the first quarter of 2021. Huawei said in a statement that HarmonyOS will be loaded on over 100 million of the brand’s gadgets, both new and old.
The agency’s journalists emphasized that visually, HarmonyOS is not much different from the current EMUI shell developed by Huawei. They also found a large number of programs and services available to users of Android smartphones in the built-in app store.
Earlier, Huawei released a beta version of the HarmonyOS 2.0 operating system for smartphones. From December 16, developers can test the OS on the company’s flagship phones and tablets – Huawei P40, Huawei P40 Pro, Huawei Mate 30, Huawei Mate 30 Pro and Huawei MatePad Pro.
