Biden nominated a Native American woman for post of Interior Minister

US President-elect from Democratic Party Joe Biden nominated Native American Deb Haaland for the post of head of the US Department of the Interior. The New York Times reports.

If her candidacy for the post of head of Ministry of Internal Affairs is approved by the Senate, then 60-year-old Haaland will become the first Aboriginal woman in US history to be appointed minister. In her new role, she will be responsible for land use issues and will participate in the implementation of Biden’s proposed climate change policy.
