In Singapore, a student at the Polytechnic Institute peeked under a girl’s skirt using his phone and was put on trial, reports The Straits Times.
On January 21 this year, 19-year-old Chan Jay Ko filmed a video from under the skirt of a 20-year-old girl on a bus. Her 22-year-old boyfriend, who was standing nearby, noticed the student’s strange behavior: he held his mobile phone in his left hand with the screen down and smoothly moved it in the direction of the victim, while the camera was at an angle.
The witness immediately asked the pervert to stop, he apologized and deleted the video. However, the victim’s boyfriend called the police, and the offender was arrested at the bus stop.
All electronic devices were seized from the Singaporean, but there were no other videos or photos taken from under the girls’ skirts.
On Tuesday, December 15, a court hearing took place. The lawyer said that the client had no friends and no girlfriend, and at the time of the incident he was in a state of “severe stress.” He stressed that Ko was an “honest man” and immediately confessed to the misconduct. In addition, the Singaporean has pleaded guilty to voyeur charges. The deputy judge said that he would consider the possibility of punishing the student with a suspended sentence.
The verdict will be delivered on January 26, 2021. A perpetrator convicted of voyeurism can be sentenced to up to two years in prison, fined, or flogged with rattan sticks.
Previously it was reported that a Singaporean student who looked under his skirt 19 times his victim without permission, went on trial. The pervert was charged with insulting his female dignity, threatening him with a fine and imprisonment for up to one year.
