The US President Donald Trump signed a directive on the use of nuclear energy in space. This is stated in a statement to White House website .
The Sixth Space Policy Directive deals with the development and use of space nuclear power plants for spaceflight and lunar exploration. They will begin to be used if other sources of energy – for example, sunlight or chemical fuels – are not enough. The directive aims to “promote US dominance and strategic leadership in space.”
