The World Health Organization (WHO) has reported a record number of coronavirus cases in a week. More than 4.3 million cases have been identified worldwide, reports RIA Novosti .
According to the organization, from December 7 to 13, 4,329,927 new cases of coronavirus infection were recorded. During this period, 75,038 patients died.
The WHO added that the “main burden of the pandemic” is shared by the regions of America and Europe. They accounted for 85 percent of new cases and 86 percent of new deaths, reports TASS . At the same time, the increase in incidence continues in North and South America, while in Europe the situation is stabilizing.
