Italy predicted mortality during World War II

Italy predicted that the death rate could reach the 1944 level. Ansa writes about this citing the statement of the President of the National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT) Gian Carlo Blanjardo.

At the end of 2020, the mortality rate in the country may be equal to the rates of the Second World War. According to ISTAT estimates, the number of deaths could exceed 700 thousand – so far 647 thousand cases have been registered. Blanjardo acknowledged that such indicators are of great concern.

December 11 WHO announced a 100% increase in deaths from COVID-19 in Europe. In total, it has grown by 60 percent worldwide over the past month and a half.

According to the latest data, there are more than 72.9 million people infected with coronavirus in the world, of which more than 1.6 million have died. In Italy, the number of infected is more than 1.8 million people, another 65 thousand have died from complications caused by pneumonia COVID-19.
