Netherlands will introduce a lockdown

Due to the increase in the incidence of coronavirus in the Netherlands, a full lockdown will be introduced for five weeks. It will take effect from midnight on December 15th. This was stated by the Prime Minister Mark Rutte , his words are reported by the NL Times.

“Less than a week ago, I said we were at a crossroads. The coronavirus is spreading even faster,” Rutte said. Thus, essential stores, dry cleaners and libraries will remain open. Other retail outlets, as well as cinemas, restaurants, bars, theaters and zoos will be closed.

At the same time, hotels will be allowed to work on condition that the restaurants in them are closed. All schoolchildren and students will be transferred to online education from December 16.

Rutte also urged the citizens of the country not to leave their homes unnecessarily, as well as unnecessarily not to fly abroad.

Earlier it was reported that Lithuania was preparing for a full lockdown. There, from December 16, restrictions on movement are being introduced: all citizens will not be allowed to leave the house without a good reason, and outside the municipality it will be possible to leave only to work, receive medical care or for a funeral.
