Germany announced strictest quarantine in history

Germany from December 16 introduces the strictest quarantine in the history of the country due to the coronavirus pandemic of the new type SARS-CoV-2. This was announced in a television speech by the President of the country Frank-Walter Steinmeier , reports Deutsche Welle .

He called the situation in the country terrible and said that the spread of the infection threatens to get out of control. He stressed that the previous measures were not enough to defeat the virus. Steinmeier urged Germans not to see their relatives in person during the Christmas celebrations. He believes that giving gifts and spending time together can be done later, but now it is necessary to cope with the epidemic.

The President also expressed hope for vaccination. He predicted that mass vaccinations would begin shortly after 2021.
