More than 300 people were detained in Minsk during protests

More than 300 people were detained in the Belarusian capital during the protests, reports TASS in its Telegram -channel citing GUVD .

Earlier on December 13 it was reported that arrests began in Minsk. Eyewitnesses reported two detained men on Kirienko Street in the Leninsky District and on Nemanskaya Street in Kamennaya Gorka.

Also on the streets of the city water cannons, military equipment and transport of security forces were seen .

In Belarus, mass protests continue due to the official results of the presidential elections, according to which the candidate for the sixth term Alexander Lukashenko received 80 percent of the votes.

The first actions were violently dispersed using special equipment. Thousands of people were detained, many spoke of torture and beatings in isolation wards. Several protesters are known to have died.

A case was initiated about an attempt to seize power. A number of opposition activists were arrested or fled the country.
