In Moldova, 150 farmers arrived on tractors to the government building in the center of Chisinau, staging a protest against the tax reform. Euronews reports this on December 10.
Agrarians are outraged by the increase in the VAT rate on agricultural products and miserable compensation for losses due to drought. Having parked their tractors outside the government building, they demanded the cancellation of the reform and adequate government assistance.
According to one of the protesters, Moldovan farmers are “strangled by banks, suppliers of seeds, fertilizers, diesel fuel are being strangled,” but the state is ignoring them.
Some of the farmers set up camp in the vicinity of the Moldovan capital a few days ago. They claimed that they were ready “to go to Chisinau.”
