A man was arrested in the USA who threatened to blow up the headquarters of Democratic Party in the city of Spokane (Washington state). This was reported by ABC TV channel News.
The incident took place on December 9th. A man with a backpack with wires sticking out entered the building where the Democrats’ office is located and said he had a bomb. The police who arrived at the scene surrounded the house, and all the people were also taken out of it. The suspect was detained when he was leaving the headquarters, while he no longer had his backpack with him.
At the same time, smoke was reported in the Democratic office. Sappers were sent to the premises, who found out that the man did not actually have any bomb. At the same time, he managed to start a small fire. No one was hurt as a result of the incident.
The suspect has not yet been identified. It is also unknown what charges will be brought against him.
After the incident, Washington State Democrats called on all elected officials to join in condemning the incident. They called the incident “a clearly politically motivated act of violence.”
On November 3, a general election was held in the United States. In their course, the Americans elected the president and vice president, members of the House of Representatives and the Senate, as well as governors and other officials.
