A crocodile on the Kabompo River in Zambia ate a resident of the village Mbututu in front of her mother, reports Zambia Reports.
On Monday evening, December 7, Lindah Chinyama went to the riverbank to do the laundry. There she was attacked by a crocodile.
The woman’s mother, Maggy Mbututu, watched helplessly. No one came to her cries for help.
Local police spokesman Elias Chushi said police later found the woman’s partially gnawed body and handed it over to the family for burial.
Chushi advised residents to refrain from doing laundry along the banks of the crocodile-infested river.
Earlier it was reported that in the Indian state of Odisha (Orissa) a crocodile killed farmer. The attack occurred when a man was gathering grass for livestock near a ghat, a stone structure on the banks of a river where Hinduists perform ritual baths and cremate the dead.
