For the period from 2017 to 2020, the SME Corporation issued guarantees for start-up projects in the amount of 12.9 billion rubles. The Corporation’s guarantee support allowed SMEs to obtain the necessary financing for a total amount of over 25 billion rubles. Financing was provided to 64 SMEs within 84 credit lines. Currently, the SME Corporation is working on 26 start-up projects with a total volume of guaranteed support of over 3.8 billion rubles. SME Bank , subsidiary bank of SME Corporation, for the period since 2017 until 2020, signed 58 loan agreements with SMEs implementing start-up projects, for a total amount of about 18 billion rubles. To support start-up projects, the bank has developed a specialized loan product, within the framework of which an SME can receive a loan of up to 2 billion rubles for up to 84 months at a rate of 7.75 percent per annum. Currently, SME Bank is considering about 20 start-up projects with a total financial support of more than 4 billion rubles.
Since 2017, the SME Corporation has been developing the direction of credit and guarantee support for new high-tech investment projects implemented by small and medium-sized businesses in priority sectors of the economy. The corporation has developed and approved a special warranty product “Direct Warranty for Startups”. This guarantee covers up to 70 percent of the loan amount. When implementing projects in certain high-tech industries (IT, biotechnology, robotics, pharmaceuticals, mechanical engineering, ecology, energy), the guarantee coverage can reach 100 percent of the loan amount. The corporation’s guarantee product allows partner organizations to reduce credit risks and minimize provisions for possible losses on loans and borrowings provided to start-up projects.
