France: five Chechens were detained in case of a terrorist who beheaded teacher

Five Chechens were detained in France on suspicion of communicating with Abdullah Anzorov, who beheaded history teacher Samuel Pati. Le Figaro reports this, citing a knowledgeable source.

According to the newspaper, the suspects are between 18 and 21 years old. They were detained in the departments of Seine-Maritime and Haute-Loire. Investigators of the Anti-Terrorism Directorate suggest that the Chechens communicated with Anzorov after Pati showed cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad to his students.

The suspects will be kept in custody for up to 96 hours, pending charges of complicity in murder and participation in a terrorist community.

In early November, Chechens living in France complained about the searches and detentions from – for the murder of Party near Paris. It was argued that such actions are being taken, in particular, in relation to those who somehow supported Anzorov in social networks. Those who are seen in such activity face arrest, investigation and trial. In this case, the accused may even receive real sentences.

On the evening of October 16, in a suburb of Paris, an 18-year-old Chechen killed and beheaded teacher Samuel Pati. The reason for the murder was the demonstration at the Party class of cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad – the teacher told the students about freedom of speech. Anzorov was shot dead by the police during his arrest.
