Man bitten by a man-eating shark explained his experience

A surfer from the Australian Kangaroo Island survived the attack of a great white shark, also known as a man-eating shark, and spoke about what happened. His words were published by The Australian newspaper.

A 29-year-old local resident encountered a dangerous predator on December 6 in Destris Bay. The man was in the water on a surfboard when a shark hit him from the left. “It felt like you were hit by a truck,” he says. “She bit me on the back, buttocks and elbows, and she also chewed off a piece of the board.”

After that, the man-eating shark lost interest in the surfer and disappeared. The Australian seized the moment and quickly swam ashore. “I walked over to the parking lot and shouted to another surfer who was about to enter the water,” he recalls. The stranger learned about the shark attack and took the victim to the city of Kingscote. They were met halfway by an ambulance team.

The Australian, bitten by a shark, was taken to Kingscote Hospital, after which he was transferred to a medical center in southern Adelaide. The man was found to have wounds that did not threaten his life. The beach near which the incident occurred was temporarily closed.

Great white shark is one of the largest predatory fish in the world. On average, representatives of this species grow up to 4.6-4.8 meters in length, but individuals up to six meters long are found. Considered the most dangerous shark species for humans.

Previously it was reported that a shark bit the surfboard of a resident of the Australian settlement Cabarita Beach, NSW and broke a tooth. The girl was not injured as a result of meeting with a predatory fish.
