A resident of the Indian city of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, stole more than 270 thousand rupees (271.4 thousand rubles) from his grandmother’s bank account and spent them on online games, reports the Indian Express.
On Sunday, December 6, 19-year-old Dev Shah was arrested by police from the Cyber Crime Investigation Department. The young man is suspected of having withdrawn money from the bank account of his grandmother, Nimishaben, several times from September 27 to November 11.
The grandmother noticed that there was not enough money on her account and filed a complaint. At that time, mobile banking on her phone was disabled.
The police found that Shah had activated his mobile banking service and his grandmother’s mobile phone. He linked the old woman’s bank account to a payment system in order to withdraw money.
Earlier it was reported that a young resident of the Spanish city of Valencia with her lover settled in her grandmother’s house and kept the mistress locked in her bedroom for two years. The couple blocked the window to prevent their grandmother from leaving the house she owns.
