Saxo Bank publishes insane forecast for 2021

Saxo Bank predicted the “purchase” of Cyprus by Amazon , the negative impact of the coronavirus vaccine on the global economy and the emergence of a new reserve currency. Another “crazy” forecast from a Danish investment bank for the next year is available at Lenta.ru .

According to the chief economist of Saxo Bank, Steen Jacobsen, Amazon will move its headquarters to Cyprus in 2021, and will also agree with the authorities of the island state on a special preferential tax regime, which will put the company in a privileged position compared to competitors. At the same time, the US authorities and European Union will react to this behavior and tighten control over digital companies.

The development and marketing of a vaccine (or multiple vaccines) against coronavirus will have a negative impact on the global economy. Monetary authorities of different countries will be forced to raise interest rates in order to avoid overheating of the economy. This, in turn, will lead to difficulties in servicing debt for many companies and their subsequent bankruptcy.

France, which is experiencing an increased debt burden (it will reach 120 percent of GDP by 2021), will have to turn to Germany for help, and the Chinese authorities will put into circulation a digital version of the yuan, which will claim the status of a reserve currency and will compete in this capacity dollar, says Jacobsen.

A blockchain network will appear in Western countries, focused on information verification and combating fake news. It will be the result of high technology investments by leading social networks such as Facebook and Twitter. At the same time, an energy revolution will take place in many countries of the world in 2021 – due to the launch of many thermonuclear reactors powered by artificial intelligence. They will be environmentally friendly and, among other things, will help solve the problem of food and fresh water shortages.

At the same time, the development of technology will lead to massive unemployment around the world. This, in turn, will cause people to move out of the city from the criminalized areas and, ultimately, the desolation of megacities. Governments around the world will start introducing basic unconditional income, and a special civil technology fund will provide people (especially those in greatest need) with stakes in the largest companies from different sectors.

Countries with developing economies, according to Jacobsen, will have an opportunity for more dynamic development due to the spread of cheap high-speed Internet.
