Two men drifted all night in shark-infested ocean and escaped

Two fishermen in the Torres Strait between Australia and New Guinea were wrecked and spent the night in shark-infested water, after which they were rescued by an oil tanker crew, reports the LAD Bible.

Cousins 37 and 47 years old were shipwrecked after their fishing boat was badly damaged. The men spent the night clinging to a container of fuel and a piece of wood. During the night, they drifted about 10 kilometers.

When the fishermen were in the water for about 15 hours, they were noticed by the captain of the oil tanker MT GODAM. The crew turned the ship around and lifted the victims on board.

The men said that at some point they were surrounded by sharks. The predatory fish swam up to one of the brothers while the other was lifted out of the water onto the tanker.

“They were tired and caught a cold, as they had been in the water for more than ten hours,” said the captain of the vessel Ritesh Bhamaria. The victims were taken to hospital, from where they later returned home.

Earlier it was reported that a missing sailor was rescued off the coast of the American state of Florida. Two days after he disappeared, he was found clinging to an overturned yacht.
