The US will begin to return to normal in April or May 2021 thanks to the coronavirus vaccination. This was stated by the American immunologist Moncef Sloughi, who participates in the state program “Operation Incredible Speed” for the development and distribution of the vaccine, reports TASS .
The scientist emphasized that the most vulnerable segments of the population will feel the effect of the start of vaccination in January-February 2021. At the same time, on the scale of the entire population, it will take several more months to return life to its usual course. He also hopes that the vaccine for the virus will begin shipping across the country the day after government approves it, Sloughie said.
Previously, the US Secretary of Health and Human Services Alex Azar said that the first two vaccines against the SARS-СoV-2 coronavirus will be available to Americans in the coming weeks. He noted that vaccinations could begin before Christmas.
The United States remains the leader in terms of the number of people infected with coronavirus. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 14.6 million infected have been identified in the country, 281 thousand patients have died. In total, more than 66.8 million cases of the disease have been recorded in the world, 1.53 million people have died.
