Minsk warns of strengthening NATO grouping on borders of Belarus

Minsk warned about the strengthening of the NATO grouping on the borders of Belarus. The head of the main department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the republic Ruslan Kosygin told about this in an interview with STV, reports RIA Novosti .

According to him, the United States and NATO are stepping up their efforts to “develop the airspace of Poland and the Baltic states,” in particular, within the framework of the NATO Joint Armed Forces (Joint Armed Forces) mission to protect the airspace of the Baltic states. Kosygin stressed that the number of planes involved has recently increased from four to 15.

The head of the main directorate of the General Staff said that such NATO activities in the territory of Eastern European states are aimed at preparing for the use of force. He added that the Belarusian military will “adequately respond” to preparations at their borders and will not allow anyone to interfere in the country’s affairs.

Earlier, the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that NATO is creating a military group to seize the western lands of the republic. According to him, external interference was the cause of the aggravation of the situation in Belarus.
