More than 300 people were detained at unauthorized protests in Minsk. This was announced by the head of the department for the protection of law and order and the prevention of the police of public security GUVD of the Minsk city executive committee Alexander Kupchenya, reports TASS .
According to him, the participants of the event violated the legislation on mass events on the territory of Minsk, administrative protocols are drawn up against the detainees under Article 23.34 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of Belarus (“Violation of the procedure for organizing or holding mass events”).
The action “March of Freedom” takes place in Minsk on Sunday, December 6. It was reported that protesters, to avoid mass detentions, gather not in the city center, but near their homes.
Residents of Belarus began to take to the streets demanding the resignation of the current president Alexander Lukashenko immediately after the August 9 elections. The opposition disagrees with the results, according to which Lukashenka received 80 percent of the vote.
