Nutritionist revealed danger of tangerines

Excessive consumption of tangerines can be dangerous for allergy sufferers, people suffering from obesity, diabetes or gastrointestinal diseases. This was announced to RT by Olga Grigoryan, a leading researcher at the Federal Research Center (FRC) for Nutrition and Biotechnology, Candidate of Medical Sciences nutritionist.

The nutritionist revealed that tangerines have a large amount of fructose, making them the leaders in the content of simple carbohydrates, which are very quickly absorbed. At the same time, these citrus fruits with their aroma have a positive effect on the nervous system, improve mood.

However, the use of tangerines should be limited or completely abandoned because of the large amount of sugar for overweight people. It is permissible for them to eat no more than two a day. This limit also applies to children.

Allergy sufferers can develop hives, allergic rhinitis, or even cause choking due to excessive amounts of citrus fruits. Those suffering from gastrointestinal diseases may face exacerbation.
