Republicans recognize Biden’s victory and angered Trump

In US Congress 25 out of 249 party members of the current American Republican President Donald Trump recognized the victory of a Democrat Joseph Biden at the presidential elections in the country. The newspaper The Washington Post writes about this.

The publication’s reporters contacted aides to each Republican legislator in the US Senate and House of Representatives. As a result, it turned out that only 25 congressmen and senators openly recognized Biden’s victory, two consider Trump the winner, and the remaining 222 did not give a clear answer.

At the same time, only 30 Republicans openly declare their readiness to recognize Biden as the legitimate president, if the electoral college votes for him on December 14. Only nine lawmakers opposed attempts by the current head of the White House to challenge the election results. Eight more supported the efforts of the current leader of the country, and 232 did not respond.

According to the publication, the poll results demonstrate the fear of the majority of Republicans of Trump and his control over the party. The incumbent president himself, commenting on the results of the poll, asked to send him a list of party members who consider Biden the winner. “25, wow! I’m surprised there are so many of them. We’ve just started the fight,” Trump said.

Earlier, US presidential candidate Joe Biden invited his rival, the current head Donald Trump’s White House, at his inauguration. He noted that he personally does not care if Trump appears at the ceremony. However, Biden added, it would have a symbolic meaning, signaling the end of chaos and indicating a “peaceful transfer of power when rival parties shake hands and move forward.”

On November 3, the next presidential elections were held in the United States. The counting of votes and the proceedings on this issue continue to this day. According to the media, Biden received the necessary electoral votes to win, thus beating Trump. The democrat has already proclaimed himself the elected president of the United States. Trump does not admit defeat in the election and accuses his opponent of “massive fraud”.
