European Commission strives to ensure that by 2030 the roads of the region will be like at least 30 million electric vehicles, writes Bloomberg .
The goal is included in the strategic development project. There are currently about 1.4 million electric cars in operation in Europe. Experts predict that by 2028 tens of millions (about 28) environmentally friendly cars will appear on the roads. Zero-emission aircraft and ships should also be “market-ready” by 2035.
EU wants to tighten its target to reduce harmful emissions by 2030 at least up to 55 percent by the end of the next decade, up from 1990 levels. Raising this target from the existing 40 percent is a key element of the European Green Deal and will require additional costs, the newspaper writes.
The French authorities decided to subsidize the purchase of electric cars. They will pay extra one thousand euros for those who buy used electric cars. The authorities are allocating seven thousand euros for the purchase of a new car.
