A spokesman for the organization said that people need to be aware of the fact that the world will not have enough vaccinations to prevent a new rise in the number of cases for at least three to six months.

Ryan also warned of the potential for a new wave of COVID-19 ahead of the vaccine. Therefore, it is necessary to continue to comply with sanitary measures, he added.

In November, the organization’s Regional Director for Europe Hans Kluge stated that WHO has recognized the inability of the vaccine to fully stop the spread of coronavirus infection.
