Some newer Apple smartphones are experiencing cellular issues, reports the 9to50mac edition citing complaints from device owners.
Judging by the messages on the forums, the problem was found on the iPhone 12 series gadgets. In some cases, data transmission via 4G and 5G standards may be disabled on the devices. The network disappears suddenly – for a few minutes or hours. After that, the smartphone successfully connects to the towers of cellular operators.
For some of the owners of smartphones, the connection broke suddenly – for example, during a conversation. Also, a message may appear on the screens of devices stating that the iPhone is not activated. According to users, the problem is unlikely to be related to specific carriers – at least the providers contacted by iPhone 12 owners reported not seeing network problems.
In a corresponding post on Reddit, the authors said that the problem is partially solved after switching the device to airplane mode and back. In some cases, smartphone owners had to reset their network and iPhone settings. Commenters have noticed that there is no guarantee that the problem will not recur after a while.
Apple has not yet publicly responded to user complaints. As noted by the journalists, at least 500 iPhone 12 owners complained about network problems.
iPhone 12 series smartphones were presented on October 13. The lineup includes four devices – iPhone 12, 12 mini, 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max.
