Germany assessed a way to bypass sanctions against Nord Stream 2

Deputy Bundestag from “Alternative for Germany” Anton Friesen appreciated the plans to create ” The Climate Change Fund “, which will help bypass the sanctions against the Nord Stream 2 project. He spoke about this in an interview with RIA Novosti .

According to him, the decision of the authorities of the federal state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern to create such a fund will allow German companies working on the completion of construction to avoid pressure from the United States. The parliamentarian noted that this step could become a constructive solution to the problem and help avoid an escalation of the conflict. Friesen also added that Alternative for Germany already has several bills aimed at protecting Nord Stream 2 from US sanctions.

Earlier, the Bild edition reported that in Germany plan to create a fund to bypass US sanctions against the Nord Stream 2 project. With the help of it, the authorities in the future will define the gas pipeline as “the most important element for protecting the environment”, and on this basis, every effort will be made to complete its construction. For this, Germany will create a commercial enterprise whose products and services will only be used to end the project.
