A resident of London, UK, cycled 16 kilometers through the city, being completely naked. According to LADBible, she did it to raise money for a suicide prevention fund.
Kerri Barnes felt compelled to do something after seeing the shocking statistics on the rise in mental illness. She also wanted to honor the memory of a cousin who committed suicide. Her roommate jokingly suggested that she cycle around London naked, and she thought it was a good idea.
Friends and family of Barnes initially thought the plan was insane, but still supported the Englishwoman. On the eve of the bike ride, the girl took several cold showers to prepare for the low temperatures, but this did not help her much.
“Damn it, it was cold!” – Barnes described her impressions of the action, which took place on Sunday, November 29. Nevertheless, she noted that she had a lot of fun, and those around her supported her – she was briefly accompanied by rollers, and the drivers passing by rolled down their windows and shouted encouraging words after her.
“On Downing Street, a female police officer on horseback even threatened a motorcyclist when he pulled out his phone to take a picture,” Barnes said.
She has already collected seven thousand pounds (711 thousand rubles), but she hopes that she will be able to gain even more. All money will be donated to the MIND Foundation, dedicated to mental health and suicide prevention.
Previously it was reported that outdoor enthusiasts from the English county of Nartumberland filmed without clothes for the charity calendar. The proceeds will be shared by cancer charity FACT and volunteer rescuers from Northumberland Mountain Rescue.
