Dates and venue of G20 summit announced

Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte in a video message on his page in Twitter named the dates and venue the next G20 summit.

“The final summit of leaders will take place on October 30-31 here in Rome, the Eternal City, the capital of Italy,” Conte said.

Italy took over the G20 chairmanship on December 1. Giuseppe Conte noted that the main themes of the Italian chairmanship in the G20 will be three “Ps”: “persons, planet, prosperity.” He declared the need to build “the world of tomorrow.” “In an effort to leave behind a terrible pandemic, we will work to promote common tools and actions that will enable a fairer economic recovery that can tackle inequality, old and new,” the Italian prime minister promised.

Among other challenges facing Italy in the G-20, he named strengthening the role of women and taking political action to combat climate change and to strengthen green energy.

Earlier chapter European Council Charles Michel invited the leaders of the G20 countries to create an international agreement on pandemics. According to him, the document can help prevent pandemics in the future, as well as facilitate a faster and more coordinated response, and the role of WHO must be key in coordinating action.
