Tikhanovskaya announced collection of evidence of torture and beatings of Belarusians

Former presidential candidate of Belarus Svetlana Tikhanovskaya announced the launch of the United book of registration of crimes “, which will collect evidence of arrests, torture and beatings. Tut.by informs about it.

The project was implemented by the People’s Anti-Crisis Administration, headed by the oppositionist Pavel Latushko .

“The Unified Crime Registration Book is an online platform where every victim, either a witness, or an accomplice in a crime can upload information about a crime with evidence. And each crime will be first checked by lawyers and only then published,” Tikhanovskaya explained .

She noted that, first of all, the book was created to identify workers law enforcement , ” who have become involved in the repressive machine “but do not want to participate in it and can declare their sincere confession.

“[This] will become for them a serious mitigation of punishment or even release from liability in the future, when the judicial system is restored in the new Belarus. Or, if a person serves in structures and witnessed that his colleague committed a crime, he can inform about it anonymously and get a special code on the website, which will be taken into account when considering his own case, “- said the politician.

Also, the platform was created for Belarusians who have become witnesses and victims of torture and violence during mass protests. “In this process, my personal task is to transfer the data of this” Book “to a free and fair court in the new Belarus,” Tikhanovskaya summed up.

In Belarus, for the fourth month, mass protests continue, which began after the presidential elections on August 9. According to official results, Lukashenko, who ran for a sixth term, received 80 percent of the vote. The opposition considers the elections to be rigged.
