In the village of Osipenko, Zaporozhye region, a sculpture was erected on the pedestal where a monument to Soviet leader Vladimir Lenin stood several years ago Jesus Christ , reports the Segodnya newspaper.
The monument to Lenin in the village was demolished in 2014, nothing was installed in its place for a long time. Soon, local residents opened a fundraiser for a new sculpture. In total, about 25 thousand hryvnias (about 65 thousand rubles) were collected.
Next to the new sculpture, local residents plan to install a memorial plaque and equip the territory. They believe that the monument should have not only spiritual, but also historical significance.
On November 26, in Kiev, unknown opened a “paid” monument to Lenin. Near the monument, unknown persons attached several plates with prices for photos and videos next to the sculpture. The officers of the National Police of Ukraine, who arrived at the scene, pointed out a violation of the improvement rules and demanded to dismantle the monument.
In July, in the village of Zheleznodorozhnoe, Odessa Region, a monument to Lenin was turned into a monument to the Bulgarian colonist. He was dressed in the national Bulgarian costume, and a vine was placed in his hand.

Since May 2015, Ukraine has a law on decommunization. It provides for a ban on the use of Soviet symbols, condemnation of the communist regime of the USSR and the opening of the archives of Soviet special services available in the country. As part of the implementation of the law, cities, streets are renamed, monuments to Soviet leaders and leaders are dismantled.
