Missing sailor was found on an overturned yacht two days later

A missing sailor was rescued off the coast of the American state of Florida, according to CNN.

On Friday, November 27, 62-year-old Stuart Bee set sail from Port Canaveral on his 9.7m yacht Stingray. The next morning, a dock officer noticed his disappearance and contacted the US Coast Guard. A Lockheed C-130 Hercules military transport aircraft was sent to search for the missing sailor, and the surrounding ships were asked to report if they noticed Stingray. The border service also took part in the rescue operation.

On Sunday, November 29, Bee was spotted 138 kilometers offshore. His yacht was overturned, but he continued to cling to it. At about 11 am he was picked up by a Coast Guard vessel. Bee survived, but spent almost two days in the water. The state of the man is not reported, how his yacht capsized, it is also still unknown.

In 2018 it was reported that American sailors rescued fishermen from the Philippines, who drifted in the ocean for several days on a makeshift raft. Their boat sank after a collision with a two-meter marlin. The fish’s sharp nose punched two large holes in the bottom, into which water gushed.
