Pensioner listened to classical music too loudly, went to jail and died

Ian George Trainer, a pensioner from the English city of Liverpool, went to jail because of loud listening to classical music and died. The Daily Mail reports.

83-year-old Trainer passed away in the prison hospital on November 23. For many years, the Briton listened to Classic FM radio at full power. The noise disturbed his neighbor Thomas Michael Thompson . He eventually went to the police.

At the trial, the pensioner explained that due to cold medications he developed irritation in his ears when he listened to music on headphones. Then he decided to play classical music through his home speakers. “I listen to music at the volume that I like,” he stressed.

The judge sentenced Trainer to six months in prison and a fine of £ 722 sterling (73.2 thousand rubles at the current exchange rate). He was banned from playing music at a volume higher than 65 decibels.

Representatives of the UK Department of Justice have confirmed information about the death of Ian Trainer. Details were not disclosed.
