Moderna Seeks US Emergency Vaccine Authorization

The Moderna coronavirus vaccine company has filed a request to the US authorities for the emergency use of mRNA-1273 in the country. This was reported by Interfax .

It is noted that the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will review the application within a few weeks.

Previously US Secretary of Health and Human Services Alex Azar said that the first two vaccines against the SARS-СoV-2 coronavirus will be available to Americans in the coming weeks. He noted that vaccinations could begin before Christmas.

The United States remains the leader in terms of the number of people infected with coronavirus. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 13.5 million infected have been identified in the country, 267 thousand patients have died. In total, more than 63 million cases of the disease have been recorded in the world, 1.4 million people have died.
