Car together with driver fell into a suddenly formed funnel

A car with a driver inside fell into a sudden karst sinkhole in the suburbs of the Australian city of Adelaide. Yahoo News reported.

On the night of Sunday, November 29, a Toyota Camry, together with a 21-year-old driver, fell into a sinkhole formed on the road.

Arriving at the scene, the police found the vehicle half-submerged in a large hole flooded with water and mud.

The street was blocked, and the police called for help from the employees of the water utility. Later, law enforcement officers posted photos of the half-flooded car on Facebook.

The car was removed from the funnel and towed away from the scene. The driver was not injured.

During the restoration work, more than 30 houses were left without water supply. It is not known whether traffic on the street resumed after the incident.

Previously it was reported that in the Chinese city of Nanying, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous the area, passers-by were swallowed by a pit that suddenly appeared on the road. The hole is three meters in diameter and one meter deep, presumably due to water leakage from an underground drainage system.
