Doctor outlined date of global outbreak of coronavirus

A cardiologist from New York Alexander Ivanov set the date of the global outbreak of coronavirus in conversation with URA.ru.

According to him, by January 20, the number of daily cases of coronavirus in the United States and other countries may increase to 400 thousand. He noted that this is due to the celebration of Thanksgiving Day. On this day, Americans traditionally fly to relatives in other states, where they can infect and become infected with COVID-19.

At the same time, many states do not have free beds for intensive care, the doctor said. He recalled that in the United States, mortality from coronavirus has not decreased since July. “The mortality rate is 1-1.5 percent. There is not a single remedy that would significantly reduce mortality,” he said.

Previously, Special Envoy World Health Organization (WHO) David Nabarro warned, that if European countries do not build the necessary infrastructure now, then in early 2021 they are threatened with the third wave of COVID-19. According to him, Europe managed to take control of the first wave of coronavirus, but it could not prevent the second.

An outbreak of COVID-19 pneumonia caused by a novel coronavirus was first recorded in December 2019 in Wuhan. On March 11, WHO announced that the situation could be characterized as a pandemic. According to the latest data, more than 57 million people are infected worldwide.
