More than 300 protesters detained in Belarus

During unauthorized protests in Belarus, more than 300 protesters were detained. This was announced by the Viasna Human Rights Center on its website .

As of 21:55, there are 348 names in the center’s list. According to human rights activists, most of the detentions were in Minsk, but they were also carried out in Vitebsk, Brest, Grodno, Lida, Zhodino, Lyakhovichi, Borovlyany, Lesnoy, Korobchitsy, Smolevichi. Some of the protesters have already been released.

During a protest action in Minsk, a member of the main composition of the Coordination Council, economist Dmitry Kruk was detained . The center also includes journalists. Thus, in Brest, the correspondent of “Brestskaya Gazeta” and the portal tut.by Stanislav Korshunov a> and a freelance correspondent for “Brestskaya Gazeta” Maxim Khlebets. Also, a journalist of the weekly newspaper “Novy Chas” Yana Trusilo was detained in Minsk.

Earlier on November 29, one of the participants in the “March of the Neighbors” Olga Tokarchuk told that the new format of the action confused the security officials, since people take to the streets in different parts of the city, and not just in the center. Protest actions in Belarus began in August, after the announcement of the results of the presidential elections, the winner of which was declared Alexander Lukashenko . The protesters demand the resignation of the head of state, new elections, as well as an end to violence from the security forces and the prosecution of those who brutally dispersed the first protests and tortured the detainees.
