Doctor denied myths about cosmetology

Dermatologist Stanislav Arkannikov refuted myths about cosmetology in a conversation with the radio Sputnik a >.

According to him, the opinion that a beautician can rejuvenate instantly is the most popular. The specialist explained that cosmetology is a therapeutic specialty, and it is necessary to take more than one course to rejuvenate.

Also a popular topic for myths Arcannikov called the use of Botox and its supposedly destructive effect on the brain. He stated that these allegations were baseless. The expert said that the technology of using Botox came to cosmetology from neurology, where, with the help of botulinum toxin injections, a problem was solved, for example, of a nervous tic. “[Botulinum toxin] is injected into a specific facial muscle, it is paralyzed, and the wrinkles disappear,” he explained.

The doctor also dispelled the myth that fillers – liquid implants – are able to migrate on their own. According to him, cosmetologists inject fillers based on hyaluronic acids into the skin, the reticular structure of which keeps the gel from creeping. “Therefore, there can be no migration of fillers in principle,” he said.

The dermatologist also urged not to believe the myth that high-quality cosmetics should be expensive. He advised to pay attention not to the price, but to the composition of the goods.

According to Arkannikov, the fight against aging should be started as early as possible. He has recommended consulting a beautician since the age of 18.

Earlier, cosmetologist Daria Baskakova called a way to avoid the appearance of acne due to constant wearing a protective mask during the coronavirus pandemic. According to the doctor, timely mask change and proper facial skin care can help prevent rashes. So, ideally, the mask should be changed every two hours, and washed in the morning and evening after removing it. In addition, the beautician noted that the risk of acne increases with the application of abundant makeup. She also advised not to touch your face with dirty hands.
