Berlin: scammers tried to fine passers-by for non-compliance with quarantine

In Berlin, two scammers were detained who tried to fine passers-by for non-compliance with quarantine. This is stated in the message of the city police, reports TASS .

According to the department, the scammers approached two men in Mauerpark and introduced themselves as police officers in charge of enforcing quarantine measures. They demanded to pay one thousand euros and searched one of the passers-by. They called the police, the intruders were detained in hot pursuit.

Germany has been quarantined since November 2. Bars, restaurants and other food establishments are closed in the country, food can only be sold to take away. Fitness clubs, tattoo parlors, swimming pools, massage studios, cinemas, concert halls are also temporarily closed.

On November 25, it was decided to extend the partial quarantine regime until December 20. Probably, the restrictions will extend until the end of 2020. At the moment, private meetings are allowed in the country – no more than five people from two households. In shopping centers, one visitor can be admitted for every 10 square meters of area.

According to Johns Hopkins University, since the beginning of the pandemic, 1,038,649 cases of coronavirus have been recorded in Germany. 16,011 deaths were identified.
