Sber has warned of a new trick used by phone scammers to get into the trust of the victim. This is said in Sber’s Telegram channel.
It is noted that if earlier the calls were made by specially trained people – “bell ringers”, now the attackers have begun to actively use assistant robots. For example, there are cases when an allegedly Sberbank robot called the victim and reported suspicious transactions, offering to connect the victim with a fictitious “bank security”.
October 29 it was reported that fraudsters most often use robots in combined attacks to bank customers. In particular, attackers ask the victim to name a one-time code, but not to a living person, but to a robot. Thus, scammers play on people’s trust: the victim is sure that the information remains safe when the password is transferred to the machine.
In September, Zecurion CEO Aleksey Raevsky revealed a way to reduce the number of calls from scammers. According to him, there is no way to protect yourself from getting a phone number into the database of fraudsters. Leaks come from banks. He advised getting two phones or two SIM cards – for banks and for everything else. At the same time, Raevsky warned that this would not be a full-fledged solution to the problem of fraudsters’ calls to one of the numbers.
