Biden ponders appointment of a black man as head of Pentagon

US Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden pondered the appointment of a black head of the Pentagon, reports the Axios portal citing sources familiar with the situation.

According to the publication, the public is seriously putting pressure on Trump’s team so that an African American was appointed to one of the leading posts in the state. The leading candidate for the position is retired four-star General Lloyd Austin, who, if appointed, will become the first black head of the Department of Defense.

It is noted that Austin headed the US Central Command until 2016.

Earlier, the Pentagon announced the support of Democrat Joe Biden during the transfer of power. The defense department said that they are immediately starting to implement measures as part of the process of transferring power to the new US administration led by Biden.

On November 3, 2020, the next presidential elections were held in the United States. The counting of votes and the proceedings on this issue are still ongoing. According to the media, Biden received the necessary number of electoral votes to win, thus beating Trump. The democrat has already proclaimed himself the elected president of the United States. Trump, in turn, said that Biden was quick to call himself the country’s new leader.
