Rogozin dismissed director of TsENKI because of an unrestrained word

The head of the state corporation “Roscosmos” Dmitry Rogozin dismissed the general director of the Center for Operation of Ground Space Infrastructure Facilities (TsENKI, the enterprise “Roscosmos”) Andrei Okhlopkov. He wrote about this on his Facebook.

He explained that the reason for the dismissal was that he did not keep his promise on the timing of an important task. “Such an industry as the rocket and space requires the most severe discipline, and if one of the leaders promises me to complete the assignment within the deadline he himself has named and does not, I have to part with him,” Rogozin said. He added that Roskosmos “had been in a relaxed state for too long, but now it has begun to catch up with its competitors who have taken the lead.”

October 24 Rogozin reprimanded Okhlopkov and TsENKI chief engineer Vladimir Zhuk. This happened after it became known about the arrest of the head of the Vostochny cosmodrome Roman Bobkov. He will be in custody until December 22. The arrest is linked to charges of incitement to abuse of office.
