Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky may be ready to go for a second term, Deputy Head of the President’s Office Kirill Tymoshenko said in an interview with Korrespondent.
According to him, one presidential term may not be enough to change the situation in the country. At the same time, Tymoshenko stressed that Zelensky will definitely inform about his decision closer to the new elections.
The representative of the office of the head of state also noted that Zelensky “really openly wants to make the country different, developed.” “It is the president who decides whether he leaves or not, but this issue is not on the agenda at all,” he said.
In May, Zelensky allowed the possibility that he would go for a second term … He said that one deadline would not be enough for him to fulfill all plans and promises. However, he will take the final decision on nomination for a second term only if he sees great support from the people. Zelensky lamented that real work could only be started after the dissolution of the Verkhovna Rada and the appointment of a new government. The Ukrainian leader stressed that he does not expect gratitude for his work as president.
