Moldovan President-elect Maia Sandu said she would turn to the United States for help in the fight against coronavirus. This was reported on Wednesday, November 25, by RIA Novosti .
“In the near future, I will focus on receiving international assistance to overcome the sanitary crisis,” Sandu promised during the briefing.
The politician intends to receive ventilators, tomographs, medicines and tests for coronavirus for Moldova. “As part of cooperation projects with the United States and Romania, I will raise the issue of obtaining vaccines against coronavirus as soon as possible,” Sandu added.
According to the latest data, almost 100 thousand cases of coronavirus have been detected in Moldova since the beginning of the pandemic, 2,188 patients have died.
On November 15, the second round of the presidential elections was held in the country. According to the CEC, former Prime Minister Sandu received 57.75 percent of the vote, while the incumbent head of state, Igor Dodon, received 42.25 percent.
