The Minister of Health of Ukraine Maxim Stepanov appreciated the possibility of introducing a full lockdown for the New Year holidays .., reports UNIAN.
According to the head of the Ministry of Health, total quarantine is possible with a rapid increase in detected cases of coronavirus. “We are looking and talking about the fact that we can have this – a strict quarantine. And we talk about it constantly,” he said.
When asked who will be touched by the lockdown first, Stepanov replied that the disease does not choose. “This quarantine will affect everyone, without exception, as it was in the spring. As for working off: we understand that such a tough quarantine will hit the economy regardless of when it is introduced,” the minister said.
On November 24, the Minister of Culture of Ukraine Alexander Tkachenko announced that he would propose to the government to introduce lockdown for the New Year and Christmas holidays.
On November 11, the Ukrainian authorities decided to abandon the adaptive quarantine and introduce a weekend quarantine, which operates from 00:00 Saturday to 00:00 Monday.
