A 19-year-old athlete from Walsall, England, West Midlands, contracted COVID-19 and died shortly after being diagnosed, according to the Birmingham Mail.
According to parents, Cameron Wellington was a healthy young man and did not suffer from chronic diseases. On November 10, he was diagnosed with a new coronavirus infection. The young man’s condition worsened, although he himself refused to admit it.
“Cameron insisted that everything was fine with him, but I felt that something was wrong. He became paler and paler,” says the wrestler’s mother.
On November 18, he was hospitalized due to breathing problems. The doctors did not expect that the patient would not live even an hour. Wellington underwent lung surgery and was transferred to another hospital. On November 19, he underwent heart surgery, shortly after which the young man died.
“This whole situation was a shock to us. Cameron was overweight, but he was athletic and healthy,” admitted the heartbroken mother. She called on all compatriots to take COVID-19 more seriously and take care of themselves.
Previously it was reported that in the English city of Grimsby an 89-year-old patient with COVID-19 died a few hours after telling his family he was “not so bad.” His relatives do not know how to organize the funeral, as most of them are forced to comply with quarantine.
